Amina Naru, ERYT, YACEP
Charlene Sams (Amina Naru), founder of POSH Yoga, certified clinical hypnotherapist, Usui reiki master, and trauma-conscious yoga educator, specializes in providing selfcare trainings, retreats, and workshops, for individuals, organizations, and underserved communities. She is the first black woman to implement evidence-based yoga and mindfulness programs for juvenile detention centers in the state of Delaware, providing youth with tools and experiences to assist with behavior modification and nervous system regulation spanning over the past fifteen years.

Amina is a contributing author to the books Best Practices for Yoga with Veterans (YSC/Omega, 2016) and Best Practices for Yoga in the Criminal Justice System (YSC/Omega, 2017). She worked as the project manager and contributing author for, Yoga and Resilience: Empowering Practices for Survivors of Sexual Trauma (Handspring 2020) and, Best Practices for Yoga with People in Addictions and Recovery.
Amina has been featured in the books Yoga Revolution by Jivana Heyman, Yoga Radicals by Allie Middleton, and Restorative Yoga for Ethnic and Race-Based Stress and Trauma, by Dr. Gail Parker. She has also been featured in Yoga Journal, Yoga Therapy Today, and Yoga Alliance podcasts. Amina Naru’s yoga service work is deeply informed by her studies with master teachers Johnny Gillespie of Empowered Wellness, James Fox of Prison Yoga Project, B.K. Bose of the Niroga Institute, Nikki Myers of Y12SR, and Jennifer Cohen Harper of Little Flower Yoga. Amina is also a 2026 high honors graduate of the HMI College of Hypnotherapy, with an AOS degree in Mind Body Psychology.
With over 20 years of experience in the spiritual health and wellness community, Amina Naru has established a remarkable track record of empowering individuals and communities to overcome a wide range of challenges. Her clients have found success in navigating complex trauma, and other challenges, finding more joy and purpose in life.
Amina’s compassionate approach helps individuals process and release emotional blockages, develop confidence, and cultivate sustainable self-care practices that promote overall well-being. Her expertise extends to supporting clients in areas often considered sensitive or taboo. She has guided individuals through the process of healing from racial trauma and stress, establishing healthy boundaries, and overcoming anxiety and addictions.

Her clients appreciate her empathetic and holistic approach, which honors the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.
